Song of the Day: February 27, 2017

Thundercat and Kendrick Lamar, two jazz-funk based artists, get together for the first time since To Pimp A Butterfly to make a great melodic tune.

Thundercat’s bass guitar expertise led to a fusion of mellow instrumentals that made the listener eager for more.

The song culminated in Kendrick’s verse. The intriguing subject matter about his experiences, as well as the hardships the low-income class faces brought a whole new essence to the track. His voice combined with Thundercat’s vocals on the hook, synced perfectly, and sounded superb all-together.

If you liked “Walk On By,” the rest of Thundercat’s recently released LP, Drunk, should be very enjoyable. You can support Thundercat by following him on Twitter and on Spotify
